A few posts ago I showed you a DIY bracelets, which I did only by slipping beads on an elastic.
This time I’ll show you how to make a little more complicated bracelet with a wire and embroidery floss. It is delicate and looks very nice on the hand. It also makes a perfect gift for your best friend.
- embroidery floss
- earing hanger
- eventually 2 beads
preparing the filament
Using a pen form the wire into the heart-shape. The both sides of the heart will be the same, thanks to the round shape of the pen. Measure what length should your bracelet be, and cut off the unneeded part of the wire with pliers. Using the pliers straighten out the earring hanger. String the beads on the wires. If you don’t like the idea of beads, you can freely skip this point and keep on following the instruction.
winding the embroidery floss
Now you will be winding the embroidery floss around the filament. Put the straighten earing hanger and the floss along the end of the wire that is without the heart. Then, wind the embroidery floss around the wire, so it will cover the end of the thread and fasten everything together. If you would like to change the color of the thread (it is unnecessary – you can also make a one-color bracelet), do it in the same way: put one end of the new floss along the wire and wind it around the filament. After covering the whole filament, tie it up as shown on the photo below. Unneeded embroidery floss cut off nearly to the bracelet.
Our bracelet is done 🙂
